What do I need to do first?
To use Yearbook Shout, you first need a Yearbook Shout code. You can create a yearbook shout with our free app, or at our website.
Do I need to download the Yearbook Shout app?
The app is not required to use Yearbook Shout. You can create and retrieve your shouts at the Yearbook Shout website, and view them by scanning a Yearbook Shout code with any standard QR code reading application.
Do I need a smartphone?
No! Anybody can use Yearbook Shout codes. You can create, edit and retrieve any shouts at the Yearbook Shout website.
Can I color in my code?
Your Yearbook Shout code will not properly scan if you color in the background with a dark color - you must retain significant contrast between the white background and the code color. It is not recommended that you attempt to color in the background.
Can I cut or trim my Yearbook Shout code?
You may trim the edges of your code if desired, but do not trim the code itself or the space immediately around the code.
How do I create a Yearbook Shout using audio?
There are two ways to create an audio shout. With our smartphone app, simply scan your code, select "audio message", and then either record a new message at that time, or select an existing audio file from your device. You can also use our website by entering the 10 digits on your code in the "create" box. You will be prompted to choose an audio message from your computer.
How do I create a Yearbook Shout using video?
There are two ways to create a video shout. With our smartphone app, simply scan your code, select "video message", and then either record a new video at that time, or select an existing video from your device. You can also use our website by entering the 10 digits on your code in the "create" box. You will be prompted to choose a video message from your computer.
How do I create a Yearbook Shout using a picture?
There are two ways to create a picture shout. With our smartphone app, simply scan your code, select "photo message", and then either take a new picture at that time, or select an existing photo from your device. You can also use our website by entering the 10 digits on your code in the "create" box. You will be prompted to choose a photo from your computer.
How long of a video can I upload?
Yearbook Shout messages can be files up to 50MB. Depending on the type of camera you use, that typically means as much as two minutes of video.
How long of an audio message can I upload?
Yearbook Shout message can be files up to 50MB. Depending on the type of audio recording device you use, that typically means at least 8 minutes of audio.
Is there a limit to the length of the caption?
Captions are limited to 140 characters.
Can I add more than one picture to a message?
Only one picture can be attached per code.
Can I rerecord or delete a message?
Yes. You can rerecord or delete the yearbook shouts you create through our app and website.
How do I view a Yearbook Shout?
To view your shout, simply scan your code with the Yearbook Shout app or any other QR code reading app - or type in your 10-letter code at the Yearbook Shout website. You can also view codes you have already scanned in the “Your Shouts” section of the app or website.
Do I need to download the Yearbook Shout app?
Downloading the Yearbook Shout app is not required to use Yearbook Shout. Shouts can be viewed at the Yearbook Shout website, or by scanning your code with any standard QR code reading app.
Can I save a Yearbook Shout I received?
Yes. Your shouts will be saved to the "Your Shouts" section if you are logged in. You can also download the yearbook shout to your computer or mobile device. Downloading your yearbook shout will not remove it from your Yearbook Shout account - only the creator of the message can edit or delete it through their "Your Shouts" section.
Do I have to use the Yearbook Shout app to see a shout?
No, any QR code reading application should play back your shout. You can also view the shouts you have received at the Yearbook Shout website.
Do I have to have a smartphone?
No! Anybody can use Yearbook Shout codes. You can create, edit and retrieve any message at the Yearbook Shout website.
What smartphones work with Yearbook Shout?
There is a free Yearbook Shout application for iPhone, iPad and Android that can be used to create and retrieve Yearbook Shout messages. The Yearbook Shout app will work on all devices running iOS 6.1 or later. The app works on all Android devices running version 2.3.3 or later. Any smartphone with a QR code reader can be used to retrieve your shouts.
Does Yearbook Shout work with iPads and iPods?
iPads and iPods with cameras and an internet connection should be able to use Yearbook Shout.
How do I download the Yearbook Shout app?
The free Yearbook Shout app is available in both iTunes and Google Play marketplaces.
How do I use the Yearbook Shout app?
Once you have installed the free Yearbook Shout app, create a free Yearbook Shout account - or login if you already have an account. To use the app, simply scan your Yearbook Shout code and choose the kind of message you would like to create, add your content, and save. Your yearbook shout is now complete, and can be viewed at any time by scanning with the Yearbook Shout app or at the Yearbook Shout website.
Using the website to view my yearbook shouts
To view a Yearbook Shout message through our website, simply type your 10-letter Yearbook Shout code into the "Play" box that appears at the top of the Yearbook Shout website. Your message, and the controls necessary to play it, will appear.
Using the website to create yearbook shouts
To create a yearbook shout through the website, you must first obtain a Yearbook Shout code. Enter the 10-letter Yearbook Shout code into the "Create" box that appears at the top of the Yearbook Shout website, and follow the prompts to create your yearbook shout.
How do I manage my yearbook shouts?
Your yearbook shouts can be viewed and managed by signing in to your Yearbook Shout account. The sign in button is located in the upper right-hand corner of the website.
How do I register?
You can register for Yearbook Shout by clicking "Signup" in the upper right hand corner of the Yearbook Shout website.
Can I edit or delete a message?
Yes, you can edit or delete any yearbook shout that you create when logged in to your Yearbook Shout account. Shouts can be edited or deleted through the app or at our website, regardless of where you originally created your message.
Why am I getting an error message?
There are a number of possible reasons for your error message. Check to make certain that you have a strong connection to the internet, and that you have the most recent version of the Yearbook Shout application on your phone if you are using the Yearbook Shout app. On occasion, you may need to close or restart your application. Errors can also occur if you are trying to upload an unsupported file type. Should you continue to experience problems, please contact us at customerservice@stkr.it so that we can assist in resolving your problem.
Why am I unable to log in?
Check to make certain that you have an active internet connection while attempting to log in. It is possible that you have forgotten or misplaced your password; If so, please follow the "forgot my password?" procedure to receive a new password for login.
Why won't my yearbook shouts upload?
Upload issues are typically the result of poor internet connections. If you are attempting to upload a large file (like a long video), you may want to consider using your computer, or only doing so through a WiFi connection. Should your problem persist, please contact us at customerservice@stkr.it so that we can assist you.
Why can't I download the Yearbook Shout app?
Check to make certain that you have an active internet connection, and that your Apple or Android account is active and up to date. If your problem persists, please contact us at customerservice@stkr.it.
What formats of photo, video and audio recording messages do you support?
We support jpg, jpeg, gif, and png formats for photos, mp3, aac, flac, oog, m4a, wav, and aif formats for audio recordings, and mp4 ,m4v, wmv, flv, mpeg, mpg, mov, avi, moov, flv1, and 3gp for videos. Supported office documents include xls, doc, ppt and pdf. Files must be 50 MB or smaller.
I forgot my account password.
If you forgot your account password, visit the registration screen on either the app or website. We will email you a link to receive a new password.
Why won't my code work?
Codes may not work for a variety of reasons. First, make certain that you are connected to the internet when attempting to either create or retrieve a yearbook shout. If you are scanning the code with the Yearbook Shout app or another QR code reader, the code itself cannot be blocked or obscured in any way. If your problem persists, please contact us at customerservice@stkr.it so that we can assist you in resolving the issue.
How secure is my yearbook shout?
You and the people you give your codes to will be the only ones who have access to your digital content. Our security system is modeled after that utilized by other market-leading photo and video sharing companies. Only upload a link to your Yearbook Shout message through Facebook, Twitter or elsewhere if you are comfortable with others viewing it. You can always delete or edit a yearbook shout you have created through your account at a later date.
